Tap Team Two will give a performance titled "Hoofing in America," an exploration of tap dancing, at noon on Wednesday, April 4, in Shriver Hall on The Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, 3400 N. Charles Street in Baltimore.

This dance company focuses on the form of tap dance known as hoofing, a uniquely American form evolved from Irish clogging, African dance, Hip Hop, and street and social dances. Their performance explores the development of tap dancing and demonstrates its communicative power.

Tap Team Two & Company Inc. began in 1988 as a Young Audience Program and has developed into a full company with up to nine dancers in its senior company and 10 to 15 dancers in the junior company. They are now incorporated as a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving tap dance as an art form. The company has performed throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland, at the Florida Dance Festival, and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

This performance is part of the Wednesday Noon Series presented by the Johns Hopkins University Office of Special Events, now in its 35th season of cultural programming on the Homewood campus.
