September Sculpture at Evergreen Tours and Lectures

Evergreen House will host a series of sculpture tours and lectures in September as part of Sculpture at Evergreen, an outdoor, large- scale, site-responsive sculpture exhibition by 10 contemporary artists. Programs in September include:

Lecture by exhibiting artists Leonard Streckfus, Jann Rosen-Queralt, and Timothy Lonergan at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Evergreen House.

Tour of Baltimore's Artscape exhibition: 20 sculptures/20 pedestals with curator Gary Kachadourian from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17, at the annual Artscape event held in the Mount Royal neighborhood.

Panel discussion with Sculpture at Evergreen exhibition juror Michael Brenson and several exhibiting artists at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, at Evergreen House.

Tour of the Wurtzburger and Levi Sculpture Gardens at the Baltimore Museum of Art with curator of contemporary art Helen Molesworth, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24.

Admission to each sculpture tour and/or lecture is $8 for Evergreen members and $10 for non-members. Reservations must be made in advance by calling 410-516-0341.

Sculpture at Evergreen will run from May 7 through Oct. 31 at the Evergreen House, 4545 N. Charles Street in Baltimore. The outdoor exhibition is free and open to the public. A map of the grounds is free of charge. An exhibition of black and white photographs documenting the installation process of each piece in Sculpture at Evergreen, taken by Norman Watkins, will be on display in the gallery space at Evergreen. A catalogue of the exhibition is available for purchase.
