Three local authors will be available to sign books on Saturday, Dec. 2, and Sunday, Dec. 3, during the third annual "Museum Shop-Around," a collaborative holiday sale by Baltimore area museum shops at the Evergreen Carriage House, 4545 North Charles Street in Baltimore.
On Saturday, Dec. 2, at 1 p.m., Mame Warren, author of the new book, Johns Hopkins: Knowledge for the World, will sign her books in the Carriage House. Her book, celebrating the 125th anniversary of The Johns Hopkins University, highlights Hopkins' past and present, with stories about all its campuses. On Sunday, Dec. 3, at 1 p..m., authors Brooke Gunning and Molly O'Donovan will sign their recently published book, Images of America: Baltimore's Halcyon Days, published by Arcadia Publishing. The 128-page book chronicles Baltimore's social elite from the early 19th century through the mid-20th century, using historic photographs to illustrate how they lived, shopped, worked, and played. Gunning and O'Donovan previously published a book documenting the historic communities of Towson, Ruxton and Lutherville, Md.
Both books will be available for purchase in the Evergreen House Museum Shop stall in the Carriage House. The Museum Shop-Around runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Admission is $5 for adults, children 12 and under are free. For more information call 410-516-0341.
