Commencement 2002 Letter from the President of the Class of 2002 February 2002 Dear Parents: As 2002 begins, it is clear that Commencement is right around the corner. This occasion is bittersweet. We seniors are filled with nostalgia as we reminisce about our Hopkins years, and yet we are also excited about our next path in life. The Johns Hopkins University has a rich Commencement tradition. Two ceremonies will occur on May 23 under a tent on Garland Field. At 9:15 a.m., undergraduate and graduate students, including doctoral candidates, from all the University's schools and divisions will be recognized at the University-wide Commencement. At the 1:45 p.m. Undergraduate Diploma Ceremony, seniors graduating from the Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and the G.W.C. Whiting School of Engineering are called to the stage for a parting handshake with President William R. Brody and the deans of the two schools. We cordially invite you to attend both ceremonies. The Class of 2002 would be honored by your presence at Commencement 2002 and hopes you can join us on this momentous day!
Sincerely,
