Ancient Law

 

This program will normally be a modification of either the Assyriology or Hebrew Bible program. The student must take at least four seminars in legal texts, at least two of which must be in Akkadian. The student should also take any undergraduate survey courses being taught in ancient law. A basic knowledge of legal principles should be acquired either by courses in modern law or by directed reading.
