DISCUSSION

1. Shriver Hall Concert Series has 750 subscribers. They are given free rent from JHU for the use of Shriver Hall. "Shriver Hall is where the University meets the public". Shriver seats 1,118 people.

2. There was discussion of the option of using Eastern High for special event parking and using a shuttle system to bring people to the campus. The major concern with this is security. Security guards had to be hired to monitor the lots when they did this in the past.

3. Ruthie Babcock schedules at least 150 events a week in only 14 rooms. She has to turn many away because of not having enough space.

4. There are logistical problems associated with the tutorial programs that occur for small children in Levering Hall, including way-finding and traffic (no drop-off / pick-up area).

5. The idea of a conference center was discussed favorably. A facility of that nature that can handle large groups is desperately needed. A good site for a conference center would be near the new bookstore.

Respectfully submitted,
