DISCUSSION

1. Options for reorienting the baseball field were presented. The reorientation would allow for a parking structure with bleachers incorporated, and possibly tennis courts on top. In this scheme the current tennis courts would be reduced from six to two.

2. If the parking deck could provide space enough for four tennis courts and two courts could remain in their current location, the tennis program would be fine with having the courts in two locations.

3. There would need to be a net along University Pkwy at least 30ft tall to keep balls from going out into the street.

4. The scheme presented would be a problem because of sun orientation. The sun would be in the pitcher and outfielders' eyes.

5. The bleachers would need to seat at least 500 people because JHU would need capacity to host NCAA playoffs.

6. However oriented, the field would need to be kept secure (fenced).

7. If the fields were relocated to Eastern High, security would be a problem. It would be difficult to shuttle students back and forth for practice or sports events would be difficult because of the frequency and number of trips that would have to occur to facilitate the students' schedules.

8. It is nice having athletics on campus to provide some "relief" for an academically intense campus.

Respectfully submitted,
