DISCUSSION

Homewood should treasure its Olmstead legacy and take pride in the fact that the campus sits in one of the most complete Olmstead designed park systems in Baltimore. This gives the campus a pedigree on which to anchor development.

In the Archives of the American Gardens -- an amazing collection of photos taken by Thomas W. Sears L.A., who worked with Olmstead. Sears did quite a bit of work on the Homewood campus, and this collection contains many photos of the early JHU Homewood campus.

Correspondence for JHU goes into the 1870's with F.L.O. Sr, in siting Homewood.

The group felt that the closing of Wyman Park Drive in front of the Wyman Park Building would be a mistake and would seriously jeopardize the intended character of the park drive.

Respectfully submitted,
AYERS/SAINT/GROSS, INC.
Suzanne Holden
