DISCUSSION

Luanne begins the meeting by explaining the reason for the walk, how it relates to where we are in the Master Plan process, and what route we will take.

Laurie Feinberg gave an update on large projects pending in the city. These included Guilford's Star District, water/ drainage problems in the Wyman Dell, and the apartment building on the Southwest corner of University Pkwy and St. Paul changing to assisted living.

Sandy Sparks who represents the Charles Village Civic Association, identifies the area that is covered by the Charles Village PUD (33rd Street to 30th on Charles Street, the frontage of 31st and 32nd, and the commercial area of St Paul). The purpose of the PUD is to change zoning in the designated area for retail. There are many designers on the committee. They consider themselves a valuable resource to the retail in the area. Adam gives a brief review of the Plan and the Guiding Principles and the process to date.

There was a lot of discussion of the Shuttle and its part of the parking problem in the area of 29th and St. Paul. Many think that there would be more riders of the Shuttle if there were a more northern stop.

The Interfaith Center is being used 7 days a week. Students are jay-walking across Charles to the Center in a very dangerous area.

Respectfully submitted,
AYERS/SAINT/GROSS, INC.
