DISCUSSION

1. The Club organization is 100 years old. The Club building is 60 years old. The University owns the building, but the Club controls the interior and owns the furnishings. There are 4,235 members, 2,000 of whom live within a 50-mile radius of the Club.

2. Special event use contributes to the economic support of the Club. The facilities limit special event use - both size of event and time of events. The current maximum event size is 175 people on Saturday afternoons between 2 and 4 - this is limited to the "down time" between lunch and dinner. A new ballroom at the northeast side of the building is generally considered to be desirable. This ballroom is currently conceived to accommodate 250 to 300 peopled seated at round 8-person tables.

Respectfully submitted,
AYERS/SAINT/GROSS, INC.
