The API 150EX™ is a single quadrupole LC/MS system covering a mass range between 30-3000 Daltons. This system uses a Curtain Gas™ interface to maintain the interface and analyzer clean and prevent ion path contamination. The API 150EX™ system accepts 4 different ionization sources to cover LC flow rates from 20 nL/min to 2.0 mL/min:

IonSpray™ for API (Atmospheric Pressure Ionization) analysis nebulizing the samples at room temperature.
MicroIonSpray™ (µIonSpray™), an API-based source, to analyze tiny amounts of polar, thermally labile compounds.
TurboIonSpray™ (TIS), an ElectroSpray-based source (ES), is more sensitive than IonSpray™-based source which in turn requires less material for analysis and can handle higher flow rates.
Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization (APCI) uses a Heated Nebulizer interface for higher sensitivity (down to the picogram range) to provide structural information.
