Policies regarding termination of a staff member may be found in the JHU Personnel Policy Manual, a copy of which should be in each department, and which may also be accessed on-line. If a staff member is to be terminated as the result of a Reduction In Force (RIF) due to lack of funds or the abolishment of a position (Section 10.C, Personnel Policy Manual), written notice (sample RIF letter) must be given at least one month prior to the termination date. As above, the KSAS Human Resources Manager should be consulted in advance of any notice of termination.

Staff members resigning voluntarily from the university should complete the on-line Exit Interview at http://resigning.jhu.edu/.

The KASPER Human Resources sections on Payroll and the E-210 (electronic time sheet) provide information on what to do at termination with regard to these systems. Termination codes for PAYR may be found in Appendix N of the Personnel Policy Manual.

Benefits at termination may be accessed at http://hrnt.jhu.edu/benefits/.
