Tenure track appointments are made in expectation of continuous
growth to higher levels of scholarly achievement. The rules describing
the time to tenure are outlined in the Academic Council's Tenure
Regulations document. Specific guidelines regarding promotion
procedures are described in the Appointments
and Promotions Procedures document.
The career progression for members of the Research Staff is described
in the Description
of Academic Titles document. The positions and procedures
establish an orderly succession of ranks through which the University
can recognize the contributions of its research staff and their
professional development.
