The JHU Benefits Program is administered by the Office of Benefits
Administration through the Benefits Service Centers. The Homewood
Benefits Service Center is in the Wyman Park Building, 6th floor,
x62000. Eligibility for JHU benefits
(MS Word format) can be determined with the help of the following
document which has been provided by the Benefits Service Center.
If the appointee is not receiving compensation from the University
and is therefore NOT on the JHU Payroll, he/she is not eligible
for benefits. Any exceptions must have the approval of the Dean's
Office.
The benefits for which appointees are eligible are determined by
the length of appointment period, level of effort (expressed in
percentages), and type of appointment (i.e., visiting or non-visiting.)
Benefits Overviews for full-time, part-time and visiting faculty
may be accessed on the Benefits
pages, then scroll to "Select a Summary" list on the left hand side.
Benefits for research staff are the same as those for
academic faculty of the same status, i.e. full-time, part-time,
non-visiting, or visiting.
Questions about benefits eligibility may be directed to Arts &
Sciences Human Resources: Joan
Spoltore, x64138, Kate Lessman,
x67068. The online
benefits site links to information regarding specific benefits,
i.e. medical and retirement plans, educational assistance, disability
insurance, etc. Appointees may also contact the Benefits Service
Center at x62000 for answers to specific questions about their benefits.
