welcome!
Welcome to the Johns Hopkins Jujitsu Club! The Hopkins Jujitsu Club teaches a modern version of traditional Japanese Jujitsu that combines the old samurai martial art techniques with those of the modern police force into an art with a broad base of self-defense options. Club meetings focus on situational self-defense, throwing, grappling, and improving your physical and mental condition as well as coordination. Training for and participating in the annual inter-collegiate tournament as a member of the Hopkins team is optional, as is rank promotion. New members are always welcome, so come see what we're all about.
~JHU Jujitsua message from our instructor
People hear that jujitsu is a sport where size doesn't matter and think that that means you don't have to be in shape. Everyone should know coming out to our jujitsu club will be a physical test. We take the art seriously, and to learn and execute the art properly, you have to be in shape. It doesn't matter how tall or short you are, just be ready to come for a work-out.
