News & Updates

The world is always changing, and with it the JohnCon website. New information and updates on the con appear pretty frequently. Here you'll find the most recent updates and changes, and older news can be found in the archives.

JohnCon delayed, Rain of Blood Continues Unabated

I'm deeply saddened to inform you all that JohnCon 2008 will not be occurring this weekend.

Unfortunately, scheduling conflicts arose with the university - we had reserved the portions of the campus we use for JohnCon in the fall, and the university neglected to inform us that these portions would be unavailable due to construction in the spring.

We've spent the past two weeks attempting to work around this - the facilities we require are not available at any other time during this spring, and we have not found any additional facilities to replace them at this time.

We fully intend to run JohnCon this year, however - we're currently in discussion with the appropriate people in the university to host JohnCon in the early fall of this year.

You have my sincerest apologies about this late notification, but once we discovered this, we didn't want to disappoint anyone until it became clear that it was impossible to work around.

Anyone who has mailed registration to us for this year, we will refund the registration (if it was a check and we cashed it, or if it is cash), or keep it for the event in the fall, at your discretion.

Thank you, and I hope to see you in the fall.

Date Apologies

My apologies - in our haste to post the date, we neglected to check for typos in the calendar we were using. Bloody Gregorian calendar.

The correct dates are the 14th through the 16th.

Johncon Information

Welcome back, everyone, to the Johncon site - it's been hibernating, gathering its strength to come roaring out from the frozen winter, devouring the unbelievers.

Over the next few weeks, we'll post the final schedule for the convention, as well as a complete list of any and all dealers who have confirmed with us. :)

Sadly, there will once again be no RPGA this year, as the person arranging it failed to register in time (there is a 4-month required advance notification). Sorry guys - I'm not trusting anyone but me to do that registration and arranging next year.

The dates are in the corner (and, I thought, had been posted awhile ago - my apologies) - but for those of you too lazy to move your eyes, JohnCon 2008 will be from March 17th through the 19th!

Hope to see you there!

- Rich

Echoes...

We've wound down JohnCon 2007, and we may even have the posters, guides, and other miscellanea posted here by the end of the year. Thanks to everyone who came, helped, and sold their various goods.

To those of you unable to attend due to other obligations or our incompetence, we hope to see you next year!

If you think you've left anything behind that we should have found, or there's something you'd like to see next year, don't hesitate to contact us. There are various email addresses listed for us throughout the site, and we will respond promptly to all of them.

We'll post something in the fall formally requesting ideas for events at the convention as it gets closer, but for now, we're going to relax. This should not inhibit you from contacting us, of course - we never sleep.

See you in 2008!

Psst

Don't tell anybody, but I secretly just bumped the JohnCon prereg date up to this Monday, so all of you can get in cheaper.

Aftermath

Johncon 2006 has come and gone, but like certain illnesses, it'll be back next year!

In the meantime, keep checking this site occasionally - there may be actual content posted sometime sooner than "a week before JohnCon 2007"!

We'd also like to extend our thanks to all the staff who volunteered their time to make this con a success. We couldn't have done it without you!

JohnCon 2006

Right, so that's how you do this.

Alright, here we go. Sorry about the wait, folks. I'm just not very good at this whole...internet thing. As I am still in the process of figuring out how to change the rest of the site, the relevant information shall be posted here for the time being.

So, JohnCon 2006. It's on. We will be running April 14th to 16th, 2006. Pregistration will be open until April 7th. Please follow the mail registration process, as I am not quite sure the PayPal is still functioning. Any questions should be directed to hopsfa@jhu.edu until I find the login for the JohnCon account.

Again, my apologies for the huge delays. Hopefully it should be smooth sailing from here out.

Conclusion

And so Johncon has once again drawn to a close!

I'd like to thank everyone that came out to the con, and hope that all those who attended had a great time. The con managed to deftly avoid any natural disasters, elder gods, or other assorted calamities.

And now for a brief lull, before the planning for next year's Johncon begins - the Johncon of the Future!

JohnCon Approaches

Time draws night to the moment of glory!

We have a number of updates - several dealers have been listed, several games have been posted, and several staff bios are there for the viewing!

For now, make your plans and preparations, for JohnCon is less than a week away, and the clock is counting down the hours...

Schedules and Registration and Groups, oh my!

We've added quite a number of features in the last few days!

Now, in addition to our classic method of registration via mail (or at the door), online registration is available as well!

Take a look over at the Registration Page to see. Now you can register just by using PayPal and e-mail. Now, isn't that handy?

We've also added a schedule for the RPGA games we'll be running! Wander on over to the Gaming Schedule to take a look.

And if that isn't enough for you, we've set up several places to help get organized!

If you want to make plans for the convention, ask questions about the con, or just have something to say, head on over to the JohnCon2005 Yahoo Group.

If you are interested in signing up for the RPGA games, we have registration available over at our Warhorn Site.

Finally, if you are a kind and gracious soul interested in helping to judge some of our RPGA games, you should also head on over to our JohnCon 2005 Judges Group.
