.: campus map

JHU's tour office has posted a nice big map of campus. Here's virtual tour image as well. The Art Museum / Wyman Park road split referred to in the directions is at the far left of the map. The con will be held in Levering Hall; registration is in the lobby.

As always, Google know everything about everything as well, here's a Google map. We're at the "Glass Pavilion."

FROM THE GREAT WHITE NORTH
  • Take I-83S to 28th Street
  • Take Exit 7 for 28th St toward Druid Park/Lake Dr
  • Keep left at the fork and merge onto W 28th Street
  • Make a left at N Howard St (fourth traffic signal).
  • After 29th Street, Howard Street splits into Art Museum Drive (if you bear right) and Wyman Park Drive (if you turn left). Turn left onto Wyman Park Drive, then make an immediate right onto the Johns Hopkins campus.
FROM THE WILD, WILD WEST
  • Get to 695N and take it to I-83S.

FROM THE FAR, FAR EAST

You can't get there from here. Or here from there. Um. Err.

PARKING

Detailed parking information can be found at Visitor Parking Information. If you don't go for street parking, you will need to pay to park for the weekend. The machines are automated and accept credit cards or pre-paid vouchers. You can park at one of three locations:

The South Lot/ Mason Lot:
The largest lot, also the closest to the convention. It can be accessed from Wyman Park Drive, between San Martin Drive and Art Museum Drive. It's under Mason Hall on the Google Map. It is really big and thus garunteed to not fill up during the weekend. The prices are as follows:

Up to 1 hour $3.00
Up to 2 hours $6.00
Up to 3 hours $9.00
Up to 4 hours $12.00
Up to 5 hours till end of day $15.00
Evening after 3:45pm $6.00
Weekends $6.00
Overnight parking beyond 6am: Hourly rates in effect

The weekend rate is per-park, so you unfortunately if you leave and come back you'd have to pay again. Nice try.

San Martin Garage
It's located along San Martin Drive, across from the West Gate entrance to the University. It's right by the West Gate and the Carnegie Institute on the campus map. To park here, you will have to use the back enterance as shown on the campus map.Turn off of Wyman Park Drive onto a remote and wooded road, turn left into the parking lot. You'll park in the lot, then go up the elevator and across a suspension bridge to get back onto campus. It sounds complicated but is cheaper and looks pretty.

Up to 1 hour $3.00
Up to 2 hours $6.00
Over 2 hours till end of day $9.00
Evening after 3:45pm $6.00
Weekends $6.00
Overnight parking beyond 6am: Hourly rates in effect

North Lot
The smallest (30 car)lot furthest away from the convention. It's located beside and downhill from the Athletic field, next to the ROTC building.

Up to 1 hour $2.00
Up to 2 hours $3.00
Up to 3 hours $4.00
Up to 4 hours $5.00
Up to 5 hours $6.00
Up to 6 hours $7.00
Over 6 hours - good for all day $8.00

So here's the super-secret ninja way to park in the lots for the least amount of cash. On Friday when the con starts at 4:00, come after 3:45 and park in the Mason lot for $6, you can stay until 6 am and not get charged more. On Saturday and Sunday, I'd park in the San Martin or North lot for $8 or $9. It's only probably another ~5 minute walk to the convention center.

If you go for street parking and get towed, think of it as gaining exp points in the "Life" skill, and don't blame us.

.: we look forward to seeing you in the spring!
