The Executive Board
President:
Heba Mustufa <pres.jhuma@gmail.com> Assalam Alaikum, I'm Heba! I'm a senior CE Major originally from New Jersey and now from Illinois! I'm the President of JHUMA. Alhumdulillah, I am honored to serve as the Ameera of this lovely organization! If you need anything from JHUMA, please contact me! Also, if you ever need anything else, you can contact me as well ... if you're looking for me at an event, I'm probably the person you'd deem most 'violently happy'! |
Vice President:
Absar Ullah <vp.jhuma@gmail.com> Salaam! My name is Absar, and I'm a senior Molecular and Cellular Biology and Public Health double major. No, I promise, I'm not an overachiever. In fact, I'm kind of lazy. Very lazy. I actually don't do much at all aside from sleep and eat. I wonder sometimes how I got this far, to be honest. I really like sports, especially basketball. I think mentioning sports (and food) is the only way to make me get up. Don't worry, I'm really not that bad. I'm more than willing to help dispense advice and share my experiences with you all. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to meeting everyone! |
Treasurer:
Faraz Khalik <treasurer.jhuma@gmail.com> Salam. I am Faraz and I've lived in Baltimore my whole life. I'm an Applied Math major and this is my first year on board . I love to watch, play and talk about all sports. I try to get everyone in the MSA involved with intramural sports like basketball, football, soccer and many others. Let me know If you have any questions about JHUMA or Hopkins. |
Secretary/Webmaster:
Tanziyah Muqeem <jhuma@jhu.edu> Salaam! My name is Tanziyah. You can usually tell what I'm about to say or am already saying by paying close attention to my eyebrows. They are quite deadly but don't worry, I won't unleash them on you. I'm also famous for my sarcasm and I'm always available for some nice verbal jousting. I promise to go easy on you the first time around :P. Anyway, on to the more serious discussion. I'm going to be a sophomore BME student this year inshAllah and I quite enjoy the MSA here at Hopkins. We've got a solid support system and we all like to look out for each other. InshAllah this year will be just as good as if not BETTER than the last! |
External Community Relations:
Rizwana Haneef <ecr.jhuma@gmail.com > Rizwana is a senior, Neuroscience major, and is very excited to be the External Community Relations officer for this year. She loves spending time with her roommates and meeting new people. Also, she likes trying to make new dishes and desserts, like yummy apple pie. Also, she has an older sister who is a Johns Hopkins alumnus. Her grace is unrivaled in all the land. Please contact her if you have any questions about JHUMA. |
Marib Akanda <ecr.jhuma@gmail.com> This fun-loving fellow is not only excellent at maintaining various external relationships while the internal community helps him stay on his feet, he's also wonderfully color-coordinated. Please notice that Marib not only chose a sweatshirt with blue lining to go with his blue jeans, he also deliberately matched the blue line in the background. Of course, this sort of skill is what one must learn to expect from smoked-salmon loving Bengalis such as Marib. In his free time, Marib can be seen sketchily creeping across campus as he heads to his second-year BME classes. No wonder we sometimes call him 'Bloodshot Boy' |
Internal Community Relations:
Sheerin Habibullah <icr.jhuma@gmail.com> Salaam! My name is Sheerin and I'm from Harrisburg, PA. I'm a sophomore here at Hopkins and am looking to major in Public Health and a minor in Business or Econ. I'm always down for a good time with friends and especially enjoy playing tennis, ping pong, and Taboo! Thus far, I have found the MSA to be a great blend of faith and fun, and love being a part of the JHUMA family. |
Sharif Braxton <icr.jhuma@gmail.com> The thing you should know about Sharif Braxton is the boy knows how to multi-task. Cell phone in hand and on the go, this public health sophomore can take care of business. From finding a khatib each week at Jummah to setting aside time to hang out with his friends, Sharif can do it all. He's also a kung fu fighter and once managed to defeat two small children without leaving even a scratch on them. When asked how he finds the time to do so much stuff, he simply replies, "Allah provides." Masha Allah! |
Freshmen Representatives:
Sba'a Syeda <ssyeda1@jhu.edu> Salams, my name is Sbaa and I'm a freshman, looking to major in neuroscience. I was born in Chicago,IL but lived the majority of my life in MD. I cant really pinpoint the reason but I'm deathly afraid of all animals, especially dogs. If you see me freaking out and I'm not on the phone or talking to someone, its probably because theres a bug around me. I also love to play sports, but hate watching them. I'm really excited for this year and meeting everyone! :] |
