Purpose
The International Student
Ministry (ISM) on Homewood campus is a Christian ministry at Johns
Hopkins University. Our goal is to assist international students and scholars adjust in the new
environment and culture while addressing their spiritual interests and needs.
We meet every Friday night
(7pm) to enjoy a meal
together (free dinner), followed by Bible study and a time to get to
know each other better. We also have fun outings and trips for students/scholars
and their families.
All international
students -- undergraduate or graduate level -- or
scholars
While our
ministry is geared mainly
towards internationals students (undergraduates and graduate students)
and scholars, anyone (Americans and non-Americans) who want to become friends
with the internationals are welcome. Feel free to come visit
or join and invite your friends also. We welcome both Christians and
non-Christians
who have any questions about Jesus and want to learn more about the
Bible or teach them to those who are seeking.
In addition to the
services mentioned above, we strive
to promote friendships between international
students/scholars and Americans through a host family program. If you
would like an invitation to dinner in an American home and to
experience American family life and culture, please let us know. It may
be a one-time visit, or it might develop into a life-long friendship.
