Overview
The Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Microscopy Center (MC) is situated in Rockville, MD.on the Johns Hopkins University Montgomery County Campus (MCC). The Center relocated to Building III in spring 2005 tripling its space to ~ 4000sq.ft. of laboratories, imaging rooms, and offices, thus expanding its operational capabilities. The Center was started in 2003 under the direction of Dr. Gary Brooker as a component of the University’s Department of Biology Integrated Imaging Center at Baltimore’s Homewood Campus and is now a stand – alone center in the University serving the microscopic imaging needs in the Washington area.. The JHU Microscopy Center at MCC includes dedicated imaging rooms for high throughput screening and confocal microscopy; light and fluorescence microscopy; laser scanning confocal microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Wet lab and cell culture facilities are also available. The Center is intended to provide academic resources and access to imaging equipment and services for the local academic, biotechnology, and government research community.
