Johns Hopkins University - Human Resources - Faculty, Staff & Retiree Program

Office of Faculty, Staff, & Retiree Programs

Background

The Johns Hopkins University is a diverse organization with over 25,000 employees. As a major employer in the state of Maryland, the university has a certain obligation to provide a supportive environment that will improve the personal satisfaction of Johns Hopkins employees as well as strengthen the university´s community involvement. In 1992, the Office of Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs was established to address this concern by organizing faculty, staff and retiree programs that engender a team spirit and encouraging focused community outreach activities.

Mission Statement

The Office of Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs (FSRP) provides employee service recognition to build loyalty and commitment and to encourage longevity of staff members by recognizing their importance to the success of the university; encourages the university's support of local health and human service agencies through the promotion of the annual United Way of Central Maryland campaign; recognizes retired faculty and staff as valued members of the Johns Hopkins community; fosters a community spirit among the faculty, staff and retirees of the university through promotional offers and social events; encourages and facilitates faculty, staff and retiree community involvement and volunteerism in a manner that enhances the university's awareness of the surrounding communities.

The Office of Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs reports to the Senior Director of Worklife & Engagement, under the Office of the Vice President for Human Resources and is located on the Homewood campus.
