Faculty, Staff & Retiree Program
Thank you for participating in our drives!
Next drive: July 17
Drop-off deadline: July 16
Please deliver clothing to the appropriate
pick-up site by the day BEFORE the drive.
***Please separate women's and men's clothing. They will be delivered to
different locations.***
What is a "Professional" Clothing Drive?
What Kind of Clothing Can I Donate? || Where Can I Drop Off Clothing?
Help formerly homeless men and women just entering or re-entering the workforce by donating your gently-used (or new!) professional clothing, through the Johns Hopkins Professional Clothing Drives. Men's and women's clothing is delivered to Paul's Place, Christopher Place Employment Academy , Women's Housing Coalition , Earl’s Place, Franciscan Center or National Student Partnerships.
What Kind of Clothing Can Be Donated?
Donated clothing should be:
Gently-used or new
Clean (dry-cleaned or laundered)
Not stained or damaged
Appropriate to wear to the office, including:
Suits
Tailored Separates
Blouses, shirts
"Business casual" attire including khaki pants (not jeans), nice looking sweaters, polo shirts, etc.
Ties, scarves
Shoes in very good condition
The general rule is: if you would not want to wear it because of its condition, don't donate it to someone else who needs to make a good first impression when looking for a job.
Clothing is picked up in several locations throughout the university. Please deliver clothing no later than the day before the drive. Because men's and women's clothing is being delivered to two different places, please separate men's and women's clothing before you drop it off - put it in two different, marked bags. Also, please do not place clothing on hangers as they make pickup and delivery challenging and dangerous.

For more information, contact Sondra Ponzi in the JHU Office of Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs or call 410-516-0338.
Please call the appropriate contact (above) to verify pick-up dates. Please be sure to deliver your clothing IN ADVANCE of the scheduled pick-up, and separate women's and men's clothing, which will be taken to two separate agencies and cannot be sorted by the coordinators.
2008 clothing pick ups remaining this year are scheduled for July 17 and October 16.
It may be helpful to the agencies if you donate clothing appropriate to the season of the collection, since agencies generally have very limited storage space.
