Johns Hopkins commissioned a feasibility study in the Summer of 2002 to evaluate whether a fully integrated, single vendor solution could replace current systems and meet the various JH requirements.
- Hundreds of employees participated.
- Extensive functional and technical statement of requirements were developed.
- In the Winter of 2003, SAP was chosen as the preferred vendor based on its:
- Ability to meet functional and technical requirements .
- Ability, skill, capacity and resources to deliver the proposed solution in the identified timeframe.
- Experience in providing similar solutions to health care and higher education customers.
- Quality performance on prior contracts/projects.
- In the Spring of 2004, BearingPoint was chosen as the system’s integrator to assist Hopkins employees in installing SAP.
- In April 2004, the HopkinsOne Project Team initiated the beginning of the project plan, entering the Project Preparation phase of the project.
- Today, the HopkinsOne Project Team consists of approximately 250 people.
