VII: Election Procedures - Sections 1-2
Section
1: Rules Governing the Election Process
-
Candidates
must be active members of HOPE and a full time student at Johns
Hopkins University
-
Elections
shall be held in April or May of the academic year
-
An
active HOPE member must nominate candidates for each office
-
A
member has the right to refuse a nomination
-
Elections
will be held by written ballot
-
All
candidates can vote for offices
-
A
candidate must receive fifty percent plus one in order to be elected
into any office
-
In
the event that a candidate does not receive the majority vote,
there shall be a run off election
Section
2: Term of Office
Election
officers shall serve a full year of term which begins after induction
into office in April/May until the following April/May after new
elections are held.
