Troubleshooting, Renewing, Verification
To reactivate or edit a listing
If you would like to reactivate a listing please follow these steps:- Log in with your username and password
- Go to the LANDLORD MENU and click on EDIT/ACTIVATE AN EXISTING LISTING
- Click the property number for the ad you would like to re-list
- Make sure that all of your fields are correctly filled out. If you want to make changes to the listing, now is your chance. It is imperative that you have filled out the two fields that automatically reset: the DATE AVAILABLE and the ACTIVE Fields. Use the pop up calendar next to the date field and change the "select value" to YES.
- Click "Submit" at the end of the form. Your listing will be approved by our office within two working days.
If you continue to have problems, please contact our office directly, 410.516.7961
Adding photos to your listing
We encourage landlords to add photographs to their listings. Please try to use interior shots as those are typically more meaningful to a prospective tenant. You will need to make sure that your photograph is smaller than 100K.
Open your file in a photo editing program like Photoshop. In Photoshop, go to the IMAGE SIZE option and make sure the DPI is set to 72. You will need to reduce the image size - normally around 3 inches or less. You will see the size of the file adjust in the top of the window as your file size changes. Most photo processing software packages are very similar. Please consult the instructions for your specific software package.
When uploading your image to your listing, please refer to the instructions for reactivating and editing a listing.
To remove a listing
- Log in with your username and password and go to the EDIT/ACTIVATE AN EXISTING LISTING.
- Click into your ad and in the active field, select NO.
To verify that a listing has been successfully submitted
- Log in with your username and password and go to the EDIT/ACTIVATE AN EXISTING LISTING.
- You will see a table of all of the properties listed in our database associated with your member profile. Locate the correct listing and in the ACTIVE column you should see a YES. If not, follow the instructions to reactivate or edit a listing.
What is a TRUNCATED ERROR message?
Keep in mind that you are putting information directly into a database and the software wants you to input your information in a specific way. When you get a TRUNCATED ERROR message it means that information you put in is either not formatted for the form correctly or there are too many characters in the field. Here are the most typical causes for the error:
When creating your landlord registration account:
- The state field is only two characters in length
When listing a property:
- In the DATE AVAILABLE field be sure to use the pop up calendar that is to the right of the date field
- For the address field, make sure that in the first field you are only listing the number and put the street name in the subsequent field
- Edit your description if it is excessively long
- Try submitting your listing without a photo, then using the instructions from the EDIT/ACTIVATE AN EXISTING LISTING to add your photo. Remember that your photo must be less than 100K
If you continue to experience this error message, please contact the office during normal business hours for assistance.
