What does JHU Habitat do?
Our chapter runs weekly worktrips (on Saturdays) to build houses for
low-income families with the Sandtown affiliate, in west
Baltimore. If you would like to join us, sign up for
a worktrip by e-mailing
habitat@jhu.edu.
We also travel around the US to build during Intersession and
Spring Break, through Habitat's Collegiate Challenge program.
In addition, you can get involved in fundraising and publicity.

What is Habitat for Humanity?
Habitat is an international organization seeking to
furnish affordable housing for those unable to own
their own home. Prospective homeowners are required to
work alongside Habitat volunteers on the site for 300-500
hours in order to be eligible for the approximately
$200 per month , 20 year, interest-free mortgage.
What do we do in Sandtown?
Our work crews are generally assigned jobs on site.
We paint, nail, sand, muck out houses to be
refurbished, and in general, are lackeys to the
foremen. You don't need any experience, so don't worry
if you've never done any construction before.
