![]() GX Webcams and Other Views The Beach Construction crews swarmed all summer 2001 over the "Beach," the grassy hill in front of Eisenhower Library. They installed attractive brick sidewalks and a roadway of granite cobbles, restoring what historically was a full circle looping uphill from Charles Street and back down in front of Homewood house. Underground, where you can't see them, there are new storm water drainage and irrigation systems. The summer-long job of transforming the Beach was finished with days to spare before the freshman class of 2005 arrived on Labor Day weekend. ![]() August 29, 2001
