The GX Listserv The GX list provides information you need during the "Great Excavations 2" project and related construction projects at the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus. Today is Monday, August 19. Today's GX includes:
1. Last in a series 1. Last in a series Several times this summer, the new portion of the service road on the western side of campus (the section between Clark and Levering halls) has been closed for a day or so. This has been to allow crews to complete various aspects of the project. The last such closure is scheduled for this week. That same newly built leg of the western service road will close from 7 a.m. this Thursday, Aug. 22, until 7 a.m. the next day, Friday, Aug. 23. During that 24-hour period, you will be able to enter campus off Wyman Park Drive near Clark Hall and you will have access to the parking area west of Clark. But you will be blocked before you get to the service/loading area between Clark and Hodson halls. And you will not be able to use the western service road to proceed north from Clark toward the Greenhouse, the Johns Hopkins Club and the campus exit at San Martin Drive. Likewise, if you enter the campus through the lacrosse gates at San Martin and proceed southbound, you will be blocked at Levering Hall from proceeding any further south. Note: The pedestrian walkway from Clark Hall downhill to San Martin Drive is not affected by this closure; it will remain open. Thanks for your patience. 2.
