The GX Listserv The GX list provides information you need during the "Great Excavations 2" project and related construction projects at the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus. Today is Saturday, August 17. Today's GX includes:
1. Yet another route to Garland 1. Yet another route to Garland Well, this summer has been nothing if not a terrific training exercise in map reading! The latest navigation chart is posted at www.jhu.edu/gx/info/phase2.html. What it shows is this: Beginning on Tuesday, August 20, pedestrian traffic to, from and around Garland Hall will be re-routed once again. The south doors to the building will remain closed for continuation of the waterproofing work on the deck right outside the entrance. To get to the north doors, you'll no longer climb onto the deck at one of the temporary ramps at the southeast and southwest corners of Garland. Instead, you can walk one of two new detour routes:
2. It's almost over!!!!! Project managers report that the waterproofing at the south entrance to Garland should be completed during the week of Aug. 26. By Friday, Aug. 30, nearly the entire GX2 area should be reopened to pedestrians. Yaaaay! Remember to keep an eye on the Web cam at www.jhu.edu/gx/info/gxwebcam.html for the latest look at the progress. It's moving fast! 3.
