The GX Listserv The GX list provides information you need during the "Great Excavations 2" project and related construction projects at the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus. Today is Tuesday, July 16. Today's GX includes:
1. Tougher than expected 1. Tougher than expected The north doors to Garland Hall will not reopen tomorrow (Wednesday, July 17) as expected. You'll recall from the July 10 GX message [see www.jhu.edu/gx/info/listserv/10jul02.html] that the north doors were closed to allow contractors to remove and replace the waterproofing under the deck immediately outside the building. When the crew took up the old waterproofing, they found conditions different from what had been expected. In short, a tougher job. The best estimate now is that the work will take another week. Similarly, work near the south end of the Gilman tunnel is taking longer than expected. It is now scheduled to reopen this Thursday, July 18. 2.
