The GX Listserv The GX list provides information you need during the "Great Excavations 2" project and related construction projects at the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus. Today is Friday, August 2. Today's GX includes:
1. Doorway detour; alternate accessibility 1. Doorway detour; alternate accessibility Starting Monday morning, Aug. 5, the south entrance to Latrobe Hall and (just across from there) the north entrance to Barton Hall will be closed. This is to allow crews to do GX2-related work between the two buildings. The work is expected to take about 10 days, with an anticipated reopening of these entrances around Thursday, Aug. 15. The north door to Barton is normally the accessible route into the building for disabled persons; the south entrance is being made accessible before the closure takes effect. 2. Sidewalk slowdown Clear across on the other side of the GX2 work area, pedestrians may encounter some brief delays next week. A contractor is installing a storm drain line under the brick sidewalk along the front (that is, the east side) of Hodson Hall. The crew should be able to keep that sidewalk open most of the time, but there may be brief delays for northbound or southbound walkers. This will probably occur on Monday, Aug. 5 3.
