The GX Listserv The GX list provides information you need during the "Great Excavations 2" project and related construction projects at the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus. Today is Thursday, August 1. Today's GX includes:
1. The doors to nowhere 1. The doors to nowhere The north entrance to Garland Hall reopened Wednesday after completion of the waterproofing work on the northern side of the building's deck. But please note: Because there is still construction on the north and west of Garland (that is, between Garland and Levering and between Garland and Hodson), the only useful place you can get by walking out this door is around to the south side of the building. That's where the temporary ramps off the deck are located at the southeast and southwest corners. And the faster route to those ramps is out the south doors! So the reopening of the north doors has little immediate practical effect, except for those who want to vary their route. At any rate, you can see the latest configuration of the fences around the entire GX2 project area at www.jhu.edu/gx/info/phase2.html. 2.
