Never too late to learn: Peabody Preparatory expands adult offerings


'There is an entire community of people, from young professionals to retirees, looking for things to enrich their lives,' says Preparatory Dean Carolee Stewart.

Strike the drum and get your dancing shoes on — the Peabody Preparatory will introduce this spring a new version of its adult-learning program that aims to build a community of lifelong learners who both appreciate and practice the creative arts.

Fraternity sanctioned for Halloween party invitation
A Johns Hopkins University fraternity that sponsored a Halloween party publicized with an invitation appealing to racial stereotypes has been found guilty of breaking university rules and on Nov. 20 was placed on social probation until January 2008.

Cancer team shares gift of $120 million
A research team at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center is one of six in the nation to share a $120 million gift from the Ludwig Fund, named for the late shipping tycoon Daniel K. Ludwig. Some $20 million will come to the newly formed Ludwig Center at Johns Hopkins this year as well as a lifetime annual commitment of $2 million.
