
In some cases, families incur unusual situations. Such situations include loss of income, death of a wage earner, or unexpected medical expenses not covered by insurance. These types of events may warrant a review of the financial package. Changes in income due to job or overtime loss are reviewed only at the end of the calendar year. Hopkins makes every effort to provide assistance to all students who qualify. However, due to limited resources, it is not always possible to provide full assistance to every eligible student.
If you wish to appeal your award based on any of these or similar circumstances, you must submit a letter to the Financial Aid Appeal Committee and complete the Change in Financial Circumstances Worksheet. In the letter, please provide an explanation of the situation upon which you are appealing and provide supporting documentation.
The Financial Aid Appeal Committee will review your appeal within two weeks of receipt. You will be notified of the decision in writing.
