Protect Your Identity!

A student has informed us about a phone call from a person claiming to represent an organization called Scholastic Funding Group. This agency is a loan consolidation agency. However, we do not know if the caller really represents this agency. The caller says he or she is working with the federal government to assist students with loan consolidation and asks for the student's social security number. Do not give this person your social security number. The option for currently enrolled students to consolidate their loans ended as of June 30, 2006. Legitimate private lenders should not be contacting students at this time about loan consolidation.
