About FAS

We are a non-profit, student run speaker series at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore that brings prominent people to campus to speak on international affairs. Our goal is to increase intellectual dialogue on campus, further educate the Johns Hopkins student body, and bring unique events to the Baltimore community.

Over the years we have hosted several notable individuals: Sonia Gandhi, George Mitchell, Noam Chomsky, Ralph Nader, Newt Gingrich, Russell Feingold, Thomas Friedman, Chris Matthews, Dennis Ross, and Francis Fukuyama, as well as holding panel discussions on AIDS in Africa, democracy in the Middle East, and Turkish acceptance into the EU.

As a result of the quality of our symposia we received the Homewood Award, given annually to the student group that contributed the most to the campus community.
