Cleaning a column drum.
Keli working on a column drum inscription.

Cleaning and drawing on the site. Saadi, the conservator from the SCA working with Lotfi, has cleaned the inscription from this column drum removed yesterday. Now it joins the queue of texts being copied by Keli and Will. Keli is concentrating on the columns, while Will continues to draw those larger and more diverse scenes and inscription we find. He is here working on a square pillar of Hatshepsut/Thutmose III that has a fascinating additional “nome list” of king Horemheb, ca. 1320-1300 B.C.

Jonathon taking measurements.
Jonathon and Jessica working at Beit Canada.

Drawing, drawing, drawing. At Beit Canada our remarkable new artists continue to produce great pottery drawings. Jonathan is doing careful measurements, and using the digital caliper to confirm his vessel’s thickness. Jessica is obviously pretty pleased with her present results – or is that agreement that Dorothy’s present choice of music on the iPod is ok? Thanks so much for this work!
