Hopkins In Egypt Today

Katie and Elaine   Elaine and Elizabeth
Dina and Jeremy    Fatma Reads Fortune

So, here's how I said "thanks". We had a dinner party for everyone, and we played "Mut Wheel of Fortune". Each team member pulled a piece of paper from my hat on which Mut had written a fortune. The goddess was in control of the good and bad fortune for every day, so you could have one or the other. Elaine is reading hers, as Katie looks on. Examples of the fortunes given out:

THE FORTUNE FOR YOUR DAY IS GOOD!! Gamal will accidentally cook for 20 people, and the French fries will be ignored by everyone. After lunch the pottery baskets will have mysteriously all been accounted for, and you will be forced to leave early to go swimming at the ETAP.

THE FORTUNE FOR YOUR DAY IS BAD!! You will work on the platform of the temple, and as Franck lifts a large decorated block from the foundation, all the faces will slip off onto the ground. You will dash over to assist in the recovery of the surfaces, trip into a hole and land atop the few remaining bits of hieroglyphs. You will spend the evening standing with the imprints of the decoration on your body while Kent and Hiroko take impressions for casts.

Jasmin Reads the Cup   Betsy Listens to her Fortune
Yasmin Makes a Prediction

Yasmin has become our fortune teller over the years, so we asked her to "read the cup" (coffee grounds) after lunch. She begins with Betsy's cup with a serious search of the patterns inside. Doesn't she look the part as she raises her finger to give a warning?
