Barclay Environmental Justice Program
Environmental Justice at Barclay brings conservation practice and environmental learning to middle schoolers at Barclay Elementary school once a week on Friday mornings. Our goal is to teach these students the importance of protecting our environment and engage them in projects that allow them to understand what impacts humans can have on the world around them. Some of our past projects have included constructing a rain barrel, and creating public service announcements about recycling. We strive to also demonstrate local sustainable practices that positively affect the Baltimore area and Chesapeake Bay Watershed that the students can actively participate in themselves.
We meet on Thursday evenings in the CSC to discuss lesson plans and organize materials for our Friday morning classes.
