Mission Statement:

Purpose:

  • To promote and improve basic education of underprivileged sectors of the society in the States and in other countries
  • To initiate Educational Perspectives as an international movement
Values:
  • To uphold an open-minded attitude among the different communities that we serve
  • To further the education of someone who might otherwise not be able to do so
  • To help others to fulfill a goal or a dream
  • To extend the love and care to circles beyond JHU
Who:
  • New immigrants in the Baltimore region
  • Underprivileged sectors of the community in developing countries
What:
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring
  • Providing a source of acculturation companion to the newcomers
  • Public health knowledge and life-skills
  • Planning and hosting english-teaching program for students and teachers in underprivileged areas
  • Raising funds for the aid of the community
  • Collecting books and other resources to promote education
How:
  • Annual trip to schools and teacher institutes in rural China and other developing nations
  • Workshops for underprivileged groups and new immigrants of the Baltimore region
  • Visits to local organizations of the same nature
  • Fund-raising and obtaining book donations on campus
  • To promote the formation of chapters of Educational Perspectives in this country and abroad, and eventually to transform the Educational Perspectives initiation into an international movement
