Behind the Scenes...Get to know the PDOS Board 2011

As coordinators of the President's Day of Service 2011, our mission is to
1) communicate the importance of serving Baltimore city
2) encourage JHU and Baltimore non-profits to work together toward tangible products
3) empower JHU to make a prolonged impact and commitment to the Baltimore community.

Program Chair
The Program Chair is to the PDOS Board as a stage manager is to the theatre community.  She is responsible for facilitating the ease and efficacy of the Board, making sure all members do their part and maintain open lines of communication.  She also helps the Logistics Chair with site work.

super arianneArianne

Arianne Sevilla is a senior studying chemical and biomolecular engineering.  When she grows up, she would like to have super strength, the ability to fly, and the ability to suck out other people’s powers and/or memories.  When she’s not being a creeper, she can usually be spotted running frantically in and around Levering Hall or the Church of the Guardian Angel in Remington.

Logistics Chair
The Logistics Chair is responsible for contacting and arranging projects with all of the non-profit organizations featured at PDOS (plus a lot more).  She is the bread and butter of the event, because without the volunteer sites, there’d be no service. super rachel

rachel

Rachel Sax is a senior studying Psychology, French, and Gender Studies.  When Rachel grows up she would like to have super strength, super speed, super stamina, super agility, and fly.  A Lasso of Truth would also be nice.  When she is not saving the world, she can be spotted doing yoga around the sculpture garden or at Charm City Yoga.

Event Day Chairs
The Event Day Chairs are responsible for coordinating the kickoff event.  Everything you see in the rec center on the day of PDOS was brought to you by Aleesha and Allie.

super allieallie

Alexandra (Allie) Ast is a sophomore studying Chemistry.  When she grows up she would like to be able to know kickass kung fu, have a wrist communicator, and be mighty morphin. When she isn’t rockin’ on rock band, she can be found in Gilman Hall or the National Aquarium.

super aleesha

aleeshaAleesha Shaik is a sophomore studying Molecular and Cellular Biology and French.  When she grows up she would like to be able to stretch into any shape, multitask like no other, and always keep her cool.  When she isn’t planning surprise birthday parties, she can probably be found hanging out in the Levering Lounge, or around the IMAX Theatre at the Maryland Science Center.

Public Relations and Recruitment Chairs
The PR and Recruitment Chairs are responsible for getting the word out.  They talk to everyone: student government, CSC groups, residential life, Greek groups, religious groups, and everyone in between.  If you’re looking through this website, chances are they got to you.

super alexalex

Alex Dash is a sophomore studying International Studies.  When Alex grows up he would like to live life to the fullest, not be afraid to cry, and know the meaning of life (basically, Morrie Schwatrz from Tuesdays With Morrie).  When he’s not hangin’ out with his SigEp brothers, he can also be spotted around the President’s Garden or the Sherwood Gardens in Roland Park.

hannahsuper hannah

Hannah Moulden is a senior studying Writing Seminars and Spanish.  When she grows up, she would like to have the ability to fly, control the weather, and say epic lines.  If she isn’t cooking or making pro sandwiches, she can be spotted running around the CSC or the National Aquarium in the Inner Harbor.

super zoezoe

Zoe Rammelkamp is a junior studying Neuroscience.  When she grows up, she would like to be able to walk on walls, shoot webs, sense danger, and be an awesome scientist. When she’s not drinking milk, she can be spotted running around the Gilman Atrium or Linkwood Park (never been there? It’s a great place to go for a run).

super mosesmoses

Moses Song is a Junior studying Biology (for now).  When Moses grows up he would like to have great willpower, great strength, great imagination, and a sweet ring.  When he’s not SLAMmin’ around, he might be spotted around the President’s Lawn or at the Inner Harbor.
