What is Students for Choice?
Students for Choice is not just "about abortion"- we're here to educate and empower the community!
- We advocate for an individual right to make private decisions about sexual health.
- We believe every person deserves all the options and all the facts when making decisions about their sexual health.
- We want college students to know they have a right to (and where they can get) contraceptives, STI tests, prenatal care, and abortion services.
- We hope that by educating students, they will join us in pressing our Senators, Governor, and President for better laws to protect these rights.

What Do We Do?
SFC works as a group to provide or update information for the campus. Also we hold events for awareness and fun. Some examples include guest speakers, Movie Nights, bake sales, workshops, and campus events like Sex on the Beach.Check our our Past Events to see what we've done in the past. And look at the Calendar to see what events we have coming up.
Why We're Pro-Choice
Some of our members say why they are pro-choice and why they are involved with Students for Choice. Each month, we feature one of these in the sidebar. ← Tell us why you're pro-choice. Send an email to JHUchoice@gmail.com
"I'm pro-choice becuase what a woman does to/with her body should be her own personal decision. Abortions are safe medical procedures that all women should have access to." -Renae Mitchell, 2010"I'm pro-choice because personal freedom begins with bodily integrity" -Kate Mercogliano, 2010
"Whether they are morally right or wrong, women will do anything they can to control their lives and bodies. It is important that we give these women safe and legal alternatives to their dangerous back-alley methods. I am pro-choice because permitting abortions is crucial for the health of women." -Amy Peyrot, 2009
"I am pro-choice because I do not think that abortion is a decision that someone should make for someone else. The pro-choice movement respects women's ability to choose whether they want to continue their pregnancy or not. The anti-choice movement misleads their supporters, and feel a lot of their supporters would be pro-choice if they knew the truth. I think women are not truly equal to men if they do not have control over their reproductive systems." -Rose Bridges, 2012
"I am pro-choice because middle-aged white men should not control what I can do with my body." -Emma Graf
"II am pro-choice because everyone has the right to make their own decisions. Legislators cannot make decisions about a woman's body."
"If abortion is made illegal, women will have it done anyway, and by much worse means. Also, a lot of my men friends say that no man should be able to decide what a women does with her body. I'm pro-choice because everyone deserves a choice. I wish people realized that pro-choice does not mean 'pro-baby-killing.'" -Julia Dischell, 2010
"I'm pro-choice because it is important that women have control of their bodies and their fertility; without it, women are not liberated from outdated ideas about our 'place' at home raising children."
"When a woman gets pregnant, the male gets to choose whether to participate or not. The woman should have the same choice." -Sarah Valverde 2009
"It is a fact that many unintended pregnancies bring innocent children into households that can neither afford them financially or emotionally. I believe that it is important to give women the choice of abortions not only for the woman herself and her situation, but for the prevention of an unhappy childhood (of the unborn child)." -Danielle K. Beharie, 2011
