The Second Decade Society (SDS) is the alumni leadership
development program for the Krieger School of Arts &
Sciences. These alumni are proven leaders in their careers,
and are committed to helping Hopkins students succeed in
their career aspirations. Thanks
to the efforts of the SDS, several grants of up to $5,000
each are available to students for summer internships. Internships
must be unpaid or sponsored by a non-profit organization.
Internships must be a minimum of 6 weeks, and students
are expected to develop their own internships.
The award
recipients will be granted the following:
With grant aid:
Up to $3,000
(pro-rated at $250 per week) toward the recipient's summer living expenses and $2,000 credited directly toward s his/her "summer savings" in the
financial aid package
Without grant aid: Up to $3,000 (pro-rated at $250 per week)
toward summer living expenses.
SDS Eligibility: Full-time freshmen,
sophomores, and juniors enrolled in the Krieger School of
Arts & Sciences. Priority will be given to exceptional
candidates currently receiving need-based grant aid from
Student Financial Services.
