Whether you are just beginning to think about careers, are seeking a job or internship, or applying to graduate school, the Career Center is here to help. Looking for a place to start? You can upload a resume and begin exploring some of the resources the Career Center has to offer.

Over the course of the semester three students, Kylie, Katie, and Nick, will be writing about their experiences with their job or internship searches, answering your questions and providing you with some insight into how to deal with different situations that may arise as you begin your own career process. Please be aware that there are FAKE job postings and inquiries being sent via email. If you receive an email that meets the following criteria it's probably not a real job offer. Do not click on any links in that email and DO NOT provide any personal information especially social security number or any financial information! To view a full list of organizations and positions that have been identified by the Career Center as fraudulent, please click here or check the Quicklinks. Beware if the email:

• does not indicate the company name
• offers to pays a large amount for almost no work
• offers you a job without ever interacting with you
• wants you to transfer money from one account to another
• offers to send you a check before you do any work
• asks you to give your credit card or bank account numbers, or copies of personal documents - but you get nothing in writing
• says you must send payment by wire service or courier
• offers you a large payment or reward in exchange for allowing the use of your bank account - often for depositing checks or transferring money
• sends you an unexpectedly large check

NOW Make Appointments Online

1. Log in to your J-Connect account (https://jhu-csm.symplicity.com/students/)
2. Go to the Request Appointment Screen (in one of two ways):
1. Go to the Home Page and Click the “Request an Appointment” button
2. Go to the Calendar Page and Click on the “Counseling Appointment” tab and then on the “New Appointment” button
3. Schedule your appointment:
1. All appointments are 30-minutes in length
2. Choose a particular counselor or all counselors
3. Choose the date and time you prefer
4. Add any additional notes or information
5. Click the “Submit Request” button
