In the Bowman lab, we are interested in understanding how DNA packaging, known as chromatin, is manipulated by cellular machinery. Our primary focus is a class of enzymes called chromatin remodelers, which influence gene expression by shifting histones along DNA. We use a combination of biochemistry and structural biology to understand how chromatin remodelers are regulated and reorganize histone-DNA interactions. |
