Prospective Dancers
Please send an e-mail to ballet@jhu.edu if you are interested in becoming a part of our company. We have opportunities for dancers of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced and pre-professional trained dancers.
During the fall and spring semesters, we teach classes at the Caplan Dance Studio of the Mattin Center (located at the Homewood Campus). We have intermediate/advanced classes on Mondays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. (with a pointe workout from 8:30 to 9:00 p.m.) Also, we have beginner/intermediate classes on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. Classes are open to all Hopkins affiliates, and most of them are taught by members of the company. When they are available, some of our intermediate/advanced classes are taught by guest instructors who are professional ballet dancers from the Maryland/Washington, D.C. area.
We also have performance opportunities. Rehearsals generally take place in the Caplan Dance Studio on Sunday afternoons during the fall and spring semesters, unless otherwise scheduled by the choreographer.
