Camille Dessaigne
Webmaster's Note: Camille graduated from Hopkins in Fall 2010 with a B.A. in Public Health Studies. When she was at Hopkins, she served as the company's vice president and was an active teacher, choreographer, and performer with the company. Below is the biography she had on this website when she was a company member.
I have been dancing since the age of three, and I have danced jazz mostly, but also ballet, hip hop, modern and lyrical. Over the years, I have learned that dancing is not just about what I can do; it’s about having fun doing it, building relationships and letting myself be creative. Through the ups and downs in my life, I didn’t always feel like I could talk about how I felt, and so dancing became a way for me to express my joy in the good times, my grief in the hard ones, and my praise to God for remaining with me during both.
