Medical
Chinese Course (MCC)
The Medical Chinese Course at Johns Hopkins was
started in Fall 2006 with the goal of arming future physicians
with Mandarin language skills. The course objectives are
four-fold: to communicate effectively with API patients,
learn medical terminology, conduct a history and physical
in Mandarin, and converse with patients and physicians in
Mandarin-speaking countries. In October 2006, the 1st year-long
beginner's level MCC was opened to Johns Hopkins medical
students.
Since its succcessful launch,
the course has expanded to three levels: Beginner, Advanced
Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced. Registration is open
to all students affiliated with Hopkins.
