"Anthropology of Media" is a Fall 2011 undergraduate course (070.309) offered in the Department of Anthropology at the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, Johns Hopkins University. The course is taught by Anand Pandian, Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology, with teaching assistant Victor Kumar, PhD student in anthropology.

Ethnographic projects have been designed and undertaken by undergraduate students enrolled in the course, who range from freshmen to seniors and major in varied disciplines throughout the university. Individual students selected diverse media artifacts for ethnographic research and audiovisual presentation. Nearly half of them chose to make their projects available to a broader viewing public, and these can be found on the "Projects" page.

This website has been designed by Chitra Venkataramani, PhD student in anthropology. Students in the course are working closely with the Johns Hopkins University Digital Media Center in developing their individual projects.
