Statement regarding the relationship of Alpha Epsilon Delta with test preparation companies:

As the premedical honor society at Johns Hopkins devoted to best preparing pre-health students to become successful members of the medical community, Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED) recognizes the importance of the MCAT exam in the medical school admissions process. As preparation for the MCAT requires a considerable amount of time, energy, and financial resources, we believe that it is our responsibility to inform our members of the many available options in preparing for successful performance. These options include classroom and online courses and tutoring offered by private test preparation companies as well as independent preparation utilizing available MCAT review materials and practice exams.

In receiving requests from private test preparation companies such as Exam Krackers, Kaplan, and The Princeton Review, AED will not endorse any one of these companies. However, AED will host a test preparation company to present free test preparation workshops that highlight their specific approach to preparing for the MCAT as well as give companies the opportunity to donate courses or materials for the benefit of AED members. For any test preparation program sponsored by AED and featuring a test preparation company, all publicity must include a disclaimer that states “AED does not endorse XXXXXX or any other testing service's MCAT courses or materials.”

AED has a responsibility for making its members aware of all of the test preparation options available to them.
